Crackerman Clips

Below are sample video clips from our very first reading of CRACKERMAN, at the Cambridge Public Library (April 30th, 2023) — a Rising Earth Production, in collaboration with Artist’s Theatre of Boston and Cambridge Community Center for the Arts. Five actors co-directed by Don DiVecchio and Anneke Reich.

But first a brief synopsis with sample pages:

  • Sparks fly when Noreen, an African American nurse, encounters Fred, an ex-Klansman and patient at a rehab center in Selma Alabama. Fred is haunted by Charlie, a malevolent ghost that won’t let him forget his Klan loyalties. Things change when Daniel, Fred’s idealistic nephew enters the scene. Daniel wants to help everyone, including Sondra, Noreen’s hardened granddaughter. But Sondra doesn’t trust white folks, especially the nephew of an ex-Klansman. Dark secrets are revealed, the human spirit is challenged, and the struggle between these characters will change them forever.
